Subpoena and Other Legal Requests

University of Illinois Chicago routinely receives various types of formal legal requests. These include:

  • Subpoenas:  Documents requiring UIC to provide testimony or documents related to a pending lawsuit
  • Summons/Complaints:  Documents initiating a lawsuit and requiring UIC to appear in court or otherwise respond by a certain date

Pursuant to the Office of University Counsel (OUC), the OUC is responsible for determining whether and how the University should respond to all Legal Documents and related communications. All requests need to be submitted to the Office of University Counsel Chicago location.
