Establish or Capture NetID

You must have an NetID and password to use the Faculty Self-Service system. Please read the instructions for creating an NetID and password.

  1. You are required to have an activated UIC NetID and password.
  2. To activate your UIC NetID you need the following:
    • University Identification Number (UIN): Listed on your i-card
    • Social Security Number
    • Date of Birth
  3. Complete the NetID Activation step. Successful netid activation results in the following: a NetID, a common password (used for many ACCC services), password recovery mechanisms (used to reset an expired or forgotten password) and an opportunity to either create a UIC email account or modify UIC email routing to forward mail to a non-UIC account.

    If NetID Activation fails, please follow instructions and seek in-person assistance at an Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC) consulting site. You will not be able to continue with Step 4 until you’ve established a NetID and password.
