Current Mid-Term Grade Process
Fall 2009 Mid-Term Grade Collection Process
Office of the Registrar 9/18/2009
- Open midterm grade entry – Tuesday, 10/20/2009, 9 am
- Grades due – Friday, 10/23/2009, 5 pm
- Students will be able to view mid-term grades via Student Self Service – Friday, 10/23/2009, 5:10 pm
- View Direct reports available – the week of Octover 26.
- Deadline to drop a course with college approval – 10/30/2009
Mid-Term Grade Population
- Students enrolled in 100 and 200 level courses.
Grade Collection Process
- Web for Faculty
- Menu item – Mid-Term Grade Entry
- Enter grades
- Only applicable grades will display in the drop-down grade field
Communication
- In the preceding summer, the Registrar will e-mail Instructors in 100 and 200 level courses with notice of mid-term grading
- Near the start of fall, the Registrar will e-mail Instructors in 100 and 200 level courses with notice of mid-term grading
- In late September or early October, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs will send faculty an email to Instructors in 100 and 200 level courses with notice of deadline for submitting mid-term grades and notice of website resources
- In late September or early October, the Registrar will send students enrolled in 100 and 200 level courses an email
- In late September or early October, the Registrar will e-mail the Student Systems Advisory Council and the Committee of Associate and Assistant Deans regarding mid-term grading.
Reports for Colleges/Departments/Advisors
- View Direct reports available the week of October 26
- Mid-Term Grades (SR2MGRA01B)
- Grade report for all students requiring mid-term grades, indexed by college
- Mid-Term Grades Below “C” (SR2MGRA02B)
- Grade report for students with at least one mid-term grade below a “C”, indexed by
college - SR2MGRA03B – downloadable data version will contain select demographic
data elements - Mid-Term Data will be in the EDW (Registration)

Create a List of Students with Their Mid-Term Grades by Term
Student Notification of Mid-Term Grades
- Registrar will send students enrolled in 100 and 200 level courses an email in late September/early October 2009
- Notice posted on UIC Portal
- Student Self Service access to Mid-Term Grades
- Menu item – Mid-Term Grades
- Lists course subject, number, title, etc
- Displays grades submitted by instructors
- Grades not assigned will be blank
- Mid-Term GPA will not be calculated or displayed
- Mid-Term grades are not posted on official academic transcripts
